The Jimi District has failed to submit its Five-Year Development Plan, Acquittal Report, Annual Budget, Inspection Report, and Audit Report. At a time when Papua New Guinea is advancing rapidly towards an INFOTECH-driven governance environment, such isolation by Jimi District raises serious concerns.

Incompetency and Underqualification:
The District Administrator (DA), entrusted with this strategic responsibility, appears underqualified and lacking the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform effectively. This incompetence undermines the district’s ability to align with national development priorities.

Concealment of Misappropriation:
Another plausible reason for withholding reports is the fear that misappropriation of public funds and malpractice will be exposed once proper documentation is submitted. This deliberate avoidance of accountability erodes public trust and weakens institutional credibility.

Questionable Appointments:
The Member for Jimi Open continues to appoint individuals who are clearly unfit for such an important office. This pattern of appointments signals either negligence or complicity, and it perpetuates a cycle of poor governance and stagnation.

Absentee Leadership:
The current DA does not reside at Tabibuga District Headquarters, the administrative heart of Jimi. Instead, he lives elsewhere, while still drawing a salary from the state. This is not only deceitful but amounts to fraudulent enrichment at the expense of taxpayers.
