Morobe Governor Luther Wenge has pledged to bring back government services to the Sialum and Siassi local level government (LLG) areas of Tawae- Siassi.

Wenge visited the two LLGs and saw that there was government absence at LLG stations.

He highlighted that the LLG stations were the face of a districts, which would show that the district development authority (DDA) was working with the people and delivering services to them.

" I will look into the operations of the DDA and see what type of officers are serving the district and how they are addressing issues at the LLG level", Wenge Said.

"I have seen how the people are living in the LLG are and it saddened me.

"People are not to suffer because of our egos.

"They have appointed us to serve under any circumstances."

He decided to intervene in the managment of the DDA after addressing the ongoing fighting and killings ar Sialum, where he (wenge) united about 19 wards.

"Siassi is also affected by Law-and-order issues," Wenge said.

"Whatever Sialum is facing, Sassi is also experiencing the same, where the LLG station is covered by overgrown vegetation.

Wenge, a human rights lawyer, said he would take any necessary action on behalf of the people as their welfare had been jeopardized due to the actions of a few persons.

Wenge noted that aid posts and schools had been closed and students were in the village.

Wenge urged every DDA in the province to serve people accordingly, and not based on politics.
